Sunday, Father's Day, Hubby, myself and Wy packed a picnic and headed up to Skyline Drive. Chris' dad had bought a pass that was good for a week while in town so we used his pass. We headed up and enjoyed lunch, some walking around, and saw 5 or so deer. We did see one momma and baby. It was a perfect day and we enjoyed it so much, we upgraded the week pass to a year pass for just $15. I definitely see us going back up there and even camping next spring. We got a lot of our camping gear when we got married and have yet to use it. Wy is too young but next year should be perfect. Here is some of our day on Sunday...

Wyatt is 5 months - my longest post ever!
This post is late by about 10 days but it has been really crazy here lately. This post is actually going to include a recap of the last couple weeks and then at the end his 5 month pictures.
The family traveled to Iowa for a week to visit Oma, Uncle Rich, and tons of extended family. We did a lot there although it rained like crazy most of the time. We went to a family reunion, the zoo with some friends, fishing, a family farm to see goats, chickens, baby chicks and turkeys. We also traveled to St. Louis for a Giants vs. Cardinals MLB baseball game. It was Wy's first game and he even came home with a baseball and bat. We went up in the Arch and also made it to Grant's Farm to see some more animals and the Clydesdale horses. Here are some pictures of our trip...
When we got back, we had about a week to finish packing for our big move. Whew, that whole week was a blur but nonetheless, everything fit in the truck and we made it to our temporary 1 bedroom apartment in Harrisonburg, VA. We also started Wy on solid food. We started with Bananas and he loved them. Here are a couple pictures from our road trip and banana experience...
This was our first week in the apartment. Things are tight as Wyatt's new room is the dinning room. Once he goes to bed (8:30-9:00), the kitchen, living room and dinning room are off limits. Ha! That only leaves the bedroom so hubby and I head to bed. Wyatt hasn't adjusted to the time change yet which I'm not pushing it. Moving is a big deal to him. Plus he is doing some MAJOR teething. Yuck! With the move and teething, he might sleep more than two hours at night but very unlikely. I'm one tired Mama! Wyatt also knows nothing about a routine since our lives have been so hectic since he was about 2 months old. He only knows go-go-go. It is awesome that he loves to travel and has done so well in the airport, on the airplane, and in the car. He loves to ride and if he gets fussy in the afternoon in the apartment, we go for a ride.. not to sleep but just to get out. He loves it. Anyway, back to a routine. We are trying to set one. Going to bed a certain time, getting up at a certain time, and having scheduled naps. He has made a lot of progress this week. I'm really proud of him. As of this morning, he did his first complete roll. Just one, but I know more are to come. He also started peas this week. He loves those as well. Next up, green beans. I'm trying to start with veggies hoping he is nothing like his Uncle Rich who doesn't eat anything green except broccoli.
I haven't figured out how to upload videos but I've really got some good ones. Sad!
Wyatt can sit up for about 5 seconds on his own and has completed his first roll. He is growing so fast and before too long will be running around. He also went swimming for the first time with his buddy Luke this week. He was a little bit unsure but we are excited to get him back in the water. He needs to be use to it by the time we go visit Nona and Papa in Florida. They have a pool and then the ocean and bay. Ah, I can't wait for that trip.
Here are his 5 month pictures...
Next post.. .Father's Day Weekend recap. I'm going to get better at updating.
