Bumpdate - 11 WEEKS

Better late than never but man have I been busy... doing what, you ask?

Friday - My parents got into town so it was time to announce to the parents that they will all become grandparents for the first time. How EXCITING!! We sent packages to both hubby's mom and dad. Each package included a wedding album and a picture from saying something along the lines of "I love my grandpa." We included a picture from our first ultrasound in each frame. My parents got the same kind of package but we got to watch them find out which wasn't the case with his family. Needless to say, all grandparents are so excited and anxiously awaiting January 2013. Hubby and I couldn't wait until January 2012 because it was our wedding month. Now we have all moved on to January 2013. YAY!

We followed our announcement by going to dinner at my parents favorite restaurant. It is so yummy and we had a great time at dinner. We started discussing what gma and gpa would be called by the little one. It was cute! We even discussed names for baby O.

Saturday - My mom and I headed out pretty early for some shopping. My parents moved to a smaller town in Florida so her shopping options aren't great and well my dad is no good at being a shopping partner. Anyway, we spent some major bucks and even saved a lot. I bought, ha... mom bought me some comfy yoga capris from Target (LOVE) and then she also bought me a new purse. Man, was it time for me to invest in a new purse. Anyway, we ended our shopping at a flower nursery because later that night we were headed to my brother and sister-in-law's house warming party. We choose some pots and lots of flowers to make a colorful, yet personalized flower arrangements. They turned out great. By the time we finished shopping it was time to head home to shower and get ready for the party. We told my brother and sister-in-law at their party and they were so excited. We kinda crashed their party with our news. Ahh oh well. Anyway, soon the whole party new and we were getting congratulatory comments left and right. It was great to hear and weird because up until Friday we hadn't told anyone. All and all it was a great party and it wore me out. I was ready to crash at 9:00pm. Too much good food, good conversations, cornhole, and golf for me.

Sunday - The family headed to lunch before my parents left to go back home. It was nice and so good to have them in Birmingham even if it was just for a weekend.

The announcement carried over into Monday as we told everyone at our work. We work together so we made our rounds to let everyone know in our secret. I even made pink and blue cupcakes the night before for all of my team. They were all so excited and supportive. We discussed names, boy/girl preference, and even what sports they should/shouldn't play. Ha! It was great and I know many of them can't wait to babysit and I can't either as I will have 16 babysitters to choose from. YAY!

We facebook announced Monday night and the support and congratulatory comments just poured in. We announced with our 11 week 3 day ultrasound picture... It actually looks like a baby!! It was the best picture yet.

Camp started for me on Tues and here I am on Wednesday night after camp updating. I've been one busy lady so here is my bumpdate for 11 weeks. Honestly, not much has changed and I continue to have a beyond good pregnancy. I just hope that doesn't mean bad news at the end. :(

  • How far along? 11 weeks 5 days
  • Total weight gain: no clue! I go to the doctor on Friday so we will see. They didn't end up weighing me at my appointment on Monday. However, we did get a couple new photos. :)
  • Maternity clothes? No, not really. I did buy two pair of yoga pants from Target. I love them!!
  • Stretch marks? Nope, not yet.
  • Sleep: I've been sleeping good. I get up about 3 times in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom but other than that, I'm good. I have added sleeping with a body pillow in between my legs. It is just more comfortable. It probably means that it is about time to invest in one of those pregnancy pillows that are really long.
  • Best moment this week:  announcing the baby to everyone!!
  • Miss anything? Not really this week.
  • Movement: None yet.
  • Food cravings:  I've been eating a lot of fruit and cheese dip.
  • Food aversions: none, really. I'd probably say lettuce if I had too.
  • Gender: not yet. We have our Gender appointment August 3rd.
  • Labor signs: Oh no. I simply just want belly growing signs to show up. :)
  • Symptoms: Hunger... I get hungry more often now so I have to make sure I have snacks. I did experience some tailbone pain this weekend. OUCH! It hurt to walk and I really couldn't do anything to make it better.
  • Belly Button in or out? way in, like normal.
  • Wedding rings on or off? On.
  • Looking forward to: Our doctor's appointment Friday.

My summer is honestly about to FLY by. Ready... take a deep breath... ok.. here goes...
Camp started this week. I travel for work to Orlando on Sat until Wed. I go on a much needed beach vacation for the week of July 4th. I have camp on the returning Monday until August 1. The 9th until the 1st. YIKES!! I only have about 2 days off in those days. Anyway, I'll do my best to keep updating for you and for me.

Until next time,

MaMa O

  1. Enjoying your blog baby girl. Love the pictures of the baby bump as it grows. Kinda seems silly starting out, but once that baby grows by leaps and bounds, it'll be fun to look back on. I'll be following your wonderful adventure :)

Greek yogurt??? LOVE the stuff. Eat it almost everyday :) With fruit, with oatmeal, in place of sour cream, etc.
