6 Weeks

Wyatt is 6 weeks old and we took some time to have a photo shoot with him.

I've always been interested in photography and like to think I can take some pretty good landscape pictures. However, taking pictures of people or my new favorite subject, Wyatt is new territory. I'd like to say the people pictures were always just any ole picture...Nothing special. Well in college, my parents bought me a Canon EOS Rebel XS camera. Yea, I had a nice camera but I would shoot everything on auto and never really learned much about the camera. SO I've taken some time this week and weekend to learn about my camera. I've read a couple blogs that gave great tutorials for shooting in manual which really allows you to use the camera to its ability. I have also made several cheat sheets of notes to have with my camera as I'm learning. Anyway, we spent maybe 30 minutes taking pictures of Wyatt but that was only step 1.

Hubby bought me Photoshop Elements 10 (um..well over a year ago). It sat, unopened for the entire time until yesterday. I see a trend...
Buy a nice camera... wait years to really start learning how to make the most of it.
Gifted Photoshop... wait over a year to learn the program.

Shame on me but let's move on. I spent the weekend learning Photoshop. Here are the first pictures shooting in manual and editing in Photoshop...

I'm pleased with my first product and will only get better with time. I'm excited to keep taking pictures of this little guy.
