36 Weeks Bumpdate

Happy first weekend of December!! This is a weird year in the fact that there was a full week of November left after Thanksgiving. It seems like December should already be half-way over. We had a Christmas lunch to go to today and had to pass the mall on our way home. Boy, am I glad I'm not out in all the hustle and bustle. It was insane. The holiday season plus being the first weekend that their isn't Saturday College Football on T.V. in the south.. All the crazies were out in full force.

Hubby and I have almost finished Christmas shopping, ordered and about to send out Christmas cards, and lastly made all our Christmas goodies. This was our third year making all our Christmas goodies and it has become such a fun tradition. It also serves as some great gifts too. I got the camera out this year and took a couple pictures... here is some of our progress.

Our LONG list of goodies included - Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies, Snickerdoodle Cookies, Oreo Balls, Butterscotch Haystacks, Macadamia Nut Balls, Sausage Balls, Buckeyes, Lemon Blossoms, Scotcheroos, and (deep breath) Puppy Chow!!

All this led to two nights of cankles and being absolutely exhausted.. but it was so worth it. I am glad to be done and well kind of afraid of my sugar intake as of lately. Whoops.. I don't guess you are suppose to eat as you go. I actually didn't do too much eating as I was cooking but every time I looked over at Hubby, he had something in his mouth. I had to stay on that boy just to make sure we had enough for our planned gifts. Now that everything is gifted up, the leftovers are fair game.

Here's an updated COUNTDOWN..

  • 2.5 weeks until CHRISTMAS

  • How far along? 36 weeks 1 day... 1-4 to go!!!
    • Baby is the size of a... Honeydew Melon!
    • Total weight gain: Doctor's appointment is Wednesday... I'm sure I've reached the 40 lbs... starting to swell and retain water! Fun stuff!
    • Maternity clothes? oh yes, by far the most comfortable. Also, hubby's clothes and well sometimes I'd rather not wear pants at all.. only at home, of course! :)
    • Stretch marks? whomp...whomp.. the spot I was keeping an eye on are for sure stretch marks. They aren't bad or very dark but nonetheless, they are stretch marks. My itching sure has picked up too. I inch constantly but instead of scratching.. I apply lotion which still seems to not satisfy but oh well. I'm almost done.
    • Sleep: Actually, just been okay. I laid wide awake one night starting at 4:00am for about an hour because my mind wouldn't shut off. I ended up counting sheep and the next time thing I remember is hearing my alarm so it was successful. If I recall, I don't remember getting past like 10 sheep. Ha! I have started to get up WAY more than I was just in the last week. I feel like it is every two hours. Is it my body preparing myself for what is to come?? I think so! I did find that if I don't look at the clock when I wake up to flip that I fall back asleep faster.
    • Best moment this week:  well not really baby related but Hubby and I finished our Christmas shopping minus my brother. He was notified that if he doesn't give me some ideas soon that he might not be getting anything other than a nephew. I just don't think I'll be able to handle the crowds and getting out in all the rush. Hubby and I also AGREED on and purchased some new living room furniture. There really wasn't much wrong with what we had other than both couches are from Big Lots and neither reclined so we sat with our feet on the coffee table that is hideous. It was from hubby and screams bachelor pad! Ha! I hate it and have tried to get rid of it for a long time. Now, we have new sofas that recline ordered and I will be getting a new coffee table with end tables. Ya know, adult furniture.
    • Miss anything? oh boy, do I! I miss not being tired.. wait.. exhausted at night! I don't get anything done because I'm so tired when I get home. Hubby has now started cooking most of our dinners. I even made sure that he was mentally prepared to start making dinners most of the time when baby arrives. I'm, of course, not gonna want to do it. I know Hubby misses me not being so tired/grouchy. It has become such a frustration for me to get off the couch, out of the car, stand for any period of time, go up the stairs...that I get irritated. I'm making an effort to change this and to be more positive.
    • Movement: yes, yes, yes... my belly dances!!
    • Food cravings:  um.. again not much of a craving but boy have I started to be hungry. I'm hungry before bed when I ate dinner two hours prior.. I wake up in the middle of the hungry then of course by morning, I'm STARVING!!
    • Food aversions: salads
    • Gender: BOY!!!! BOY!!!! BOY!!!! Wyatt Christopher Ouren!!
    • Labor signs:  Braxton Hicks contraction at night mostly and boy does my stomach get tight....
    • Symptoms: same ole rant of back pain... It is getting old!
    • Belly Button in or out? half out and half still barely in.. awkward
    • Wedding rings on or off? off, off, off! not going to go back on until after he arrives.
    • Baby Purchases this weekjust a bunch of last minute odds and ends for me and for Wyatt. We are pretty set for everything else.
    • Looking forward to: Weekly doctor appointments starting Wednesday...
