Appointment Update - Are we ready?

Hubby and I headed down to the hospital for our weekly appointment. Wyatt is measuring 42 weeks so a little more ahead than last week. He had a good heartbeat of 130 bpm. As for me, I had my blood pressure taken a total of 4 times over 30 minutes. The first two were with the machine and the next two were manual. I guess a more accurate reading manually? Who knows. Anyway, doc was about ready to send me down to labor and delivery to be evaluated. The evaluation was going to include them taking 3 more blood pressure measures over a course of "x" amount of time to see if it would go down. She started talking induction and having him today. Whoa, what? really? Hubby and I had a look on our face of uhh, we aren't ready for this. I mean we are ready but are we? We had a day of shopping planned, not having a baby. Ha!

If you've been reading for the past couple of weeks, my blood pressure has been high but right on the mark of being a concern and not being a concern. That was the case this time for the third week in a row. Over the last three weeks, I've seen three different doctors with one being my actual doctor. Most people would hate to see different doctors but I kinda enjoy meeting the new ones as any of them could be present when I actually deliver. Anyway, the two new ones really get excited about my blood pressure whereas my actual doctor isn't phased by the number since it is right on the border. My actual doctor has been very upfront about not inducing me unless absolutely necessary and high blood pressure without any of the other symptoms isn't enough for her to get excited over. Too bad she is out on vacation this week and I'm seeing this new one. We are headed back to the doctor Friday just to check my blood pressure to make sure it doesn't go beyond that almost a concern mark. She told us to pack our bags and bring them along... so in the end that means... we could have a baby Friday. 

I think hubby and I are thankful for the two day notice.. mentally.. ya know? I mean at this point in the pregnancy you'd think we were prepared mentally but I don't think you ever feel ready. I'm sure we will still have an oh sh*t moment when/if Friday is the day!

Now, enjoy the next two days of relaxing and waiting. We sure will!!
